How it works

From public data to a ranked, comparable directory — here is the whole pipeline, including exactly how our ranking is calculated.

1. We collect and verify business data

Listings start from public sources: Google Business Profiles, the business's own website, and public registries. Automated crawlers extract facts (services, contact details, ratings), and every record keeps its source and verification date. Listings refresh on a regular publishing schedule.

2. The Best Score ranking

Every ranked list uses a transparent 0–100 Best Score:

  • Up to 70 points — adjusted rating. The average rating, pulled toward a neutral prior until enough reviews confirm it. A 5.0 from 2 reviews scores lower than a 4.4 from 300 reviews.
  • Up to 10 points — review volume. More independent reviews, more confidence.
  • Up to 10 points — verification. Recently verified business data.
  • Up to 10 points — profile completeness. Website, phone number, and photos.

Promoted listings are always labelled and receive zero ranking points. Every ranked page shows a per-business "Why?" breakdown.

3. Search, filter, and compare

Use the search page to filter by location, category, rating, and verified signals. Add up to four businesses to your comparison shortlist with the Compare button and view them side by side. Save favorites and searches to your account — saved searches show how many new businesses matched since you saved them.

4. Get matched

If you would rather describe what you need, submit a request. We match it against the directory deterministically — by category, region, and your stated needs — and record which businesses matched, so you can follow up from your account.
