Frequently asked questions

Short answers about our data, rankings, and features.

Where does the business data come from?

From public primary sources: Google Business Profiles, the business's own website, and public registries. Each profile shows its source and last verification date.

Can a business pay to rank higher?

No. Promoted placement exists but is always labelled and never affects the Best Score or ranked positions. Rankings are computed only from data quality signals.

How is the Best Score calculated?

From four components: rating adjusted for review volume (0–70), review volume (0–10), verification (0–10), and profile completeness (0–10). Full methodology on how it works, and every ranked item has a "Why?" breakdown.

Are the ratings written by GPN Directory?

No. Ratings and review counts come from the underlying public sources (currently Google). We never author or edit review scores.

I own a business listed here. How do I claim or correct it?

Use the "Claim this business" button on your listing or start at business login. Claiming lets you request corrections and receive matched leads.

How do favorites and saved searches work?

Create a lightweight account with your email on the account page. Hearts save businesses; saved searches show how many new businesses matched since you saved them.

How current is the data?

Listings are republished on a regular schedule from freshly verified source data; each profile shows its last-verified date. If something looks stale, use the contact page to flag it.
